27/10/2011 - National Planning Policy Framework

We would strongly reccomend that you consider this document in detail at:

We have now done so, and the society's representation is in the Representations and Documents Library on the Home page. There are a number of elements that we would support however there are some fundamental issues with this document that make the Regional Spatial Strategies pale in comparison. In summary this governement is giving developers unprecedented powers, befoer the change of government has abolished the RSSs and before the Localism Bill can ever be enacted, bearing in mind the SA of revocation of the RSSs has not even been published for consultation. We will not make comment on the developers contributions to conservative coffers, just say that economic growth (not employment) is dependant on industry and exports. Why are governements so wedded to house building as being the answer to all economic problems when the market shows otherwise?
Closing date is the 17th October for comments.

The Societies comments are on the Documents and Representations page.

Areas Covered include: Woburn Sands, Aspley Guise, Aspley Heath, the Brickhills, Husborne Crawley, Salford, Wavendon and Woburn
