22/09/2008 - Archive Photo Gallery - work is ongoing in uploading a substantial part of WSDS archive of the area. This is a work in progress.

BACKGROUND
Mr and Mrs Tagg, residents of Aspley Guise, and members of the society built, indexed and catalogued a substantial photographic and post card archive of the local area. A phenomenal piece of work, that was very much a part of their total committment to the area. David Blackshaw then spent a considerable amount of time scanning the archive to make it available in electronic format. We are indepted to the Taggs and David.

Mr and Mrs Tagg, no longer live in the area but remain members of the Society. They will not be forgotten by both the Society and local residents.

Whilst a number of exhibitions have been held showing some of the archive, the Society felt that as much of the archive as possible should be made available to view on line. Prints of the material to be made available for a small charge on request.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

An increasing number of photographs have been uploaded for each village, and this will be expanded in the coming months.
