03/12/2010 - Press Release - Woburn Sands Library

"Whilst extremely regrettable the leaked information about Library closures in Milton Keynes did not come as a surprise to Woburn Sands Town Council. Sadly such closures are inevitable all over the country following the government’s financial cut backs. Woburn Sands Town Council is planning to take on board the delivery of a local library service for our community should this axe fall. It is likely to be a community based library run by a local group run by volunteers and will require much community support to make it a success. Further information will be available early in the New Year following the full Budget report with details of suggested cutbacks due to come before MKC Cabinet on 21 Dec."

This will a appear on the WSTC web site, when its working again.

The Society is supporting Woburn Sands Town Council in its plans for Library Services in Woburn Sands and we hope that others will do so too. It is an important amenity for both Woburn Sands and Aspley Guise residents.

Areas Covered include: Woburn Sands, Aspley Guise, Aspley Heath, the Brickhills, Husborne Crawley, Salford, Wavendon and Woburn
