13/02/2009 - Mr Menday appeal of planning refusal for Greens Hotel successful

We are sorry to advise that Mr Menday has been successful in his appeal against planning application refusal for the conversion and extension of Greens Hotel to a 50 bed nursing home and 36 close care apartments with 53 car parking spaces so much for local views being taken into account as required by PPG17!!!. This proposed development also involves a new and smaller social/tennis clubhouse, and the relocation of the current bowls club to a field at Common Farm, Aspley Guise. The latter was the subject of a successful appeal against planning refusal by Mid Bedfordshire Council. The appeal decision can be found in the documents library.

The development of the Bowls Club site at Common Farm, in accordance with the appeal decision and annotated conditions must begin before 14th May 2010 and the development of the Greens Hotel Site and annotated appeal conditions must begin before 28 January 2012.

We trust, based on previous history, that both MKC and Mid Beds DC (soon to be Central Beds DC) will keep very close observation on both developments, if they go ahead the delivery of the appeal conditions, and the commitments made by the applicant in submitted documents.
