11/04/2008 - Grimley's Report - for Aylesbury, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Mid Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Council and MK Partnership

Messrs Grimleys report and supplementaty report April 20008 is now complete and can be found at

It should be remembered that GVA Grimley were on instruction from Milton Keynes Partnership responsible for both the Evaluation Report and Growth Strategy for MK submitted to the Panel in June 2006. We are advised that Messrs GVA Grimley were selected for their existing knowledge of the area as part of this process by the instructing councils.

It is of note that this was in the main a desk top exercise, examining selected papers to provide their "informed" opinion. Similar in some respects to the approach in respect of the Evaluation Report and Growth Strategy. Although it appears the supplementary report did encompass a site visit. Further work is required in respect of Transport Assessment, Technical Assessment, in particular flood risk, and Infrastructure Requirements and Delivery.

We would suggest that viewers read this report, and form their own conclusions in respect of its robustness, and value to the instructing councils, bearing in mind the overarching drive by the government to deliver housing targets.

The Society will in due course be making its own comments, but individuals can of course provide comments to MKC, Aylesbury Council and Mid Beds Council should they wish to do so.
